Yes, you do need a photo ID for the SAT. Like some other countries such as Kenya, Thailand, Ghana etc. if you are taking the SAT in India the only acceptable ID is a valid passport and no other substitute IDs will be accepted. Without it, you will not be able to take the SAT. So if your passport has expired make sure you have a valid passport for test day. Along with your photo ID, do remember to carry a hard copy of your printed admission ticket.
Your photo will be part of your Admission Ticket. This will be checked against your photo ID on test day to ensure security. Check out the guidelines for the photo ID on the admission ticket here!
