The SAT reasoning test (formerly the Scholastic Aptitude Test and Scholastic Assessment Test) is the principal US standardized test used for determining the reasoning abilities of candidates for colleges. It is administered by the ETS, and developed by the College Board.
Simply put, the SAT measures the literacy, numeracy, and writing skills that are needed for academic success in college.
The SAT is required for US education, and accepted in several international universities as well. Most colleges worldwide look favorably upon a top SAT score. |

The SAT consists of three sections - Critical Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. Each section is graded on a 200-800 scale, with each score being a multiple of 10.
The test is for 3 hours and 45 minutes, and includes a section which has experimental questions and is non-graded. |
