When is the best time to take the LSAT?

Many law schools require that the LSAT be taken by December for admission the following fall. However, taking the test earlier—in June or September/October—is often advised.
If you want to ensure you have an opportunity to repeat the test, register for either the June or September/October administration. This way, if you are unsatisfied with your initial score, the best time to take the LSAT test is in December, before law school application deadlines.
