How is the New SAT scored?

The New SAT is scored out of 400-1600. Each of the three components of the Revised SAT: Section Scores (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math) are worth 200-800 marks; Test Scores (Reading, Writing and Language, and Math) are worth 10-40 marks, the Cross scores (History/social studies and science) comes under test scores; & SAT Essays (Essay scores, Reading, Analysis, and Writing) are worth 2 to 8 marks. With the new revisions, SAT Essays is optional, but is recommended by most of the colleges.

Since the SAT is a standardized test, the scaled score that you receive is based on your raw score. As per the new revised SAT scoring system there are no negative marks for the wrongs answers.
